Compensation is a real reason to call. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
What it does not do is change how the process works, or what we expect from patients
WHAT WE EXPECT

You know what condition you are calling about.

You attend your first appointment, or you call before it to reschedule.

You are straightforward about your diagnosis, medications, and history.

You do not ask to be paid for the prescreen. Nothing is paid until screening begins.

If you are currently enrolled in another study, or recently finished one, you tell us on the first call. We check.
WHAT THIS GETS YOU

A no-cost review of your history with a physician, whether or not a study fits.

Study-related care at no cost if you enroll.

You keep your own doctor and your own medications.

A chart with us, so future studies mean a phone call instead of a search.

Most of our enrollment comes from people we already know.
Meeting these expectations does not guarantee eligibility. Enrollment is determined by medical criteria, not by effort or staff preference.
One missed appointment without notice ends consideration for future studies.

For those with less than 12 months to live. $2,500 Funeral Stipend. Referrals welcome.
What We Do Not Study
Bipolar Disorder
A history of Bipolar disorder is exclusionary for our studies.
Substance Abuse
A history of SUD is exclusionary for our studies.
HIV, Hep C, or Hep B
A history of these is exclusionary for our studies.
COMPENSATION
How Compensation Works
Qualified participants may receive compensation for:
Time
Spent at study visits.
Travel
To and from appointments.
Activities
Required for the study.
You are compensated for participation. You are not paid for taking a risk.
Compensation varies by study. Your Coordinator will explain the details for any study you may qualify for.
The Process: Step by Step
Prescreen Visit
Your first appointment is in person at our Independence office and usually lasts about 30–45 minutes.
Our team reviews your medical history, current medications, diagnosis, and previous treatments.
The prescreen and travel to it are not compensated.
Screening
If a current study may fit, the team will explain the study and provide the informed consent information for you to review.
If you choose to continue, formal screening begins. This is typically where compensation starts, depending on the study.
Screening does not guarantee enrollment.
Participating
If you qualify and decide to enroll, your coordinator will explain the visit schedule, required activities, and compensation.
You must attend scheduled visits or contact the office beforehand if you need to reschedule.
One missed prescreen without notice ends consideration for future studies at our clinic.

Common Questions
Is there any cost to participate?
No. All study-related care, including medical evaluations and study medication, is provided at no cost to you. You'll also receive compensation for your time and travel expenses. Prescreen information above.
Will this replace my current docter?
No. Participants continue to see their regular doctors and take their prescribed medications. Our study team works alongside your existing healthcare providers.
What if we decide the study isn't right for us?
Participation is completely voluntary. You can withdraw at any time, for any reason, without affecting your loved one's regular medical care.
How long does the study last?
The length varies by study. During your screening call, we'll explain exactly what's involved, including the number and frequency of visits.
